Steve--

I would VERY MUCH like to see if DTN and Linnsoft, could work this out, and VERY MUCH APPRECIATE the effort. I am not a programmer, just a consumer. Although InvestorRT is a terrific program in all other respects, it does not function efficiently on a daily, OHLC basis, with DTN, and it would be great if it did.

Steve-

When I have tried to do the download in the past, the process takes about 20-30 minutes...

I will try it this evening at 5:30 PST. What I would expect is that after the download process, I could put up a chart, of say, GOOG, and see a candle representing the OHLC and volume of the day's trade on the chart. This has not been my experience with IRT (InvestorRT from Linnsoft), after attempting this "bulk" download using DTN. I will typically have to INDIVIDUALLY download data for EACH CHART I PUT UP, in order to see a candle on the chart reflecting the OHLC and volume for today's data. Then, the candle I want to see is on the chart, but not if I try to download the data in a "bulk" way.

Thanks Steve, I would really like to solve this problem, so that I can carry on with DTN.

Steve--

I have experienced this problem for some months now, since I first started with DTN, in fact. With InvestorRT, I have the option to download daily (HLOC, volume) data using Yahoo, and this is how I have been keeping my database updated.

I have spoken with Curtis at DTN tech support, and he has confirmed that this is the situation; but I never really got a satisfactory explanation as to why this is so, just that it is so (not through any fault of Curtis, who was helpful and courteous). Apparently, the 9:00PST availability of daily closing data is an improvement; as it used to not be available until midnight here (SF Bay Area).

Again, the issue is that I need to update my entire database (around 4500 ticker symbols, or all the stocks listed on NYSE and NASDAQ exchanges) sometime within let's say, an hour of the close (1:00 PM, PST) in order to run my scans through the DB to find trading setups for the next day's session. I'd really like to get this issue resolved, so please feel free to contact me. It may be a language issue with Linnsoft, too, that is, the data request may be incorrectly written into the program, but I can't say, as I am not a programmer.

I use DTN as a data feed with InvestorRT from Linnsoft. I need to be able to update OLHC and volume data for the day's session, a half-hour or so after the day's close, which is about 1:30 PM here on the West Coast. Since moving to DTN, I have found that I have to wait until at least 9:00 PM PST, in order to do this.

I need to have up-to-date, daily data (daily OHLC and volume) in order to be able to run my scans and evaluate potential technical setups for the following day's session. When I subscribed to MyTrack data and got end-of-day data from Dial Data, I could do this with no problem, and then have an hour or so to do my prep work for the next day's session. But now I must wait until at least EIGHT HOURS after the close, which puts my preparation time to the middle of the evening here, at the earliest....very difficult (if not impossible) for me to do, for family reasons. In order to use DTN's data, I have to completely restructure my workday.

Obviously, this is a difficult situation. Although I like using the DTN/Linnsoft combo, I will have to find another solution, unless I can get the daily data in a more prompt fashion.
