"Just a quick one to say I'm very impressed so far :) The documentation for developers is excellent and I've quickly managed to get an app written to do historical downloads. The system is very robust and pretty quick considering the extent of data that's available. Thanks Stephen,

How often is that file updated? Also, can you please explain more the content of the file?

Looking at the EQUITY file it seems to contain the symbols that no longer exists. However, it seems like the last update was Aug. 15, 2019.

Is there a more recent version?

Data Questions » Historical Market Symbols Dec 4, 2020 10:25 AM (Total replies: 7)

Hello,

I know that we can currently get the daily updated Market Symbols file from this link:

http://www.iqfeed.net/symbolguide/index.cfm?symbolguide=lookup&displayaction=support§ion=guide&web=iqfeed

It looks like the direct link to the file is this:
http://www.dtniq.com/product/mktsymbols_v2.zip

According to the page, this file is updated every day at around 6:05am Central Time.

My question is, can I download the historical Symbols? For example, I want to get the file which would contain the Equity and Option Symbols from last month. Is there any way I can get this somewhere?

Thank you.

New IQFeed Forum » Options Root and Options Symbology Nov 24, 2020 11:07 AM (Total replies: 1)

Hello,

I'm trying to get the Equity Options from OPRA using the Fundamental data from the Market Summary socket. When the data comes back, the OptionRoots column is blank. Is there a way to populate this? If not, is there another way to find the Option Root symbol?

Many thanks.
