Hi,
I use the settings in the png attachment....can you check that they are correct?

For daily bars I use : Build From minutes

Esample of quotes:

EURUSD.FXCM 1DAY BID

2015-12-09 15:59 Open:1.08910 High:1.10430 Low:1.08790 Close:1.10250
2015-12-10 15:59 Open:1.10250 High:1.10250 Low:1.09250 Close: 1.09400
2015-12-11 15:59 Open:1.09400 High:1.10310 Low:1.09270 Close: 1.09930
2015-12-14 15:59 Open:1.09800 High:1.10490 Low:1.09460 Close:1.09940

I also ask to the technical support what are the quotes (for IQFEED) and the answer is :

dec 9: open 1.08914, close 1.10247
dec 10: open 1.10246, close 1.09401
dec 11: open 1.09401, close 1.09846

but I'm not able to get these candles in any way... someone can help me?

Thank you.

Bye bye.

Hello Dario, If you are building your Daily bars off of Minute data then that is part of the issue that the data not lining up correctly with the Daily data that you requested via chat. Within the Format Instrument window do not use the "Build from Minutes" option as that will skew the data. Instead leave it unchecked and that will allow Multicharts to pull in the Daily data that we have complied for the Daily sessions.

With the new settings in the image (attachment)

now the data are:

2015-12-09 15:59 Open:1.08914 High:1.10428 Low:1.08791 Close:1.10248
2015-12-10 15:59 Open:1.10246 High:1.10248 Low:1.09246 Close: 1.09403
2015-12-11 15:59 Open:1.09401 High:1.10307 Low:1.09266 Close: 1.09927
2015-12-14 15:59 Open:1.09806 High:1.10486 Low:1.09455 Close:1.09942

The technical support quote data are:
dec 9: open 1.08914, close 1.10247
dec 10: open 1.10246, close 1.09401
dec 11: open 1.09401, close 1.09846 Why this is very different from my close price?

But the sessions : 16:00 - 15:59 from sunday to friday is correct? Has it any impact on data?

thank you bye

Hello Dario, ok I see what is wrong, within the Format Instrument window change the "Quote Field" Line from Bid to Trade then click on OK. Even though with FOREX all trades come from the Bid price when this is set to Bid it will pull Tick data for and build the data off of that which can skew the chart. Your Format Instruments should look similar to the attached screenshot.

I see thank you...
but I don't understand what means... when we trade we use ask price to buy and bid price to sell...so chart build on trade (quote field = trade) what means? It's a chart build neither on ask ticks nor on bid ticks....I don't understand. Do you know what means?

Thanks.

Bye

Dario

You will use the Bid/ask to focus in on the very current information of the chart. if you use the trade you can look at a longer time frame.
It will depend on how you set the chart as to the interaction between the Software and the data-feed.
Multi-charts is a very Robust software that can utilize our data-feed to the max.

Thank you for answer,

mhmhm...I will use the chart for backtesting strategy so...I must use bid and ask charts always...
Strategy Properties -> Backtesting -> Extended (to use ask and bid for precise backtesting)..

Relatively...settings and sessions for Forex Instruments :

Sessions:

Sunday 16:00 - Monday :15:59
Monday 16:00 - Tuesday :15:59
Tuesday 16:00 - Wednesday :15:59
Wednesday 16:00 - Thursday :15:59
Thursday 16:00 - Friday:15:59

Settings:

Price Scale : 1/10000
Min Mov : 1
Big Point Value : 10000 (mini contract)

Are these Settings right for all the instruments in FX (*.FXCM)?

Thank you

Bye.

Ok...
somewhere I had read that sessions had to be set in this way:
Sunday 17:00 - Monday :16:59 ........Until.....Thursday 17:00 - Friday:16:59

instead of my settings are:
Sunday 16:00 - Monday :15:59 ........Until.....Thursday 16:00 - Friday:15:59

Sorry...if I stressed the same things more and more times but data are the most important things in any strategy evaluation.

So thank you for your time and patience.

Bye.

Thank you so much LorenF...I needed just this information.

I made a new Exchanges & ECNs profile with all these informations and now finally all seems ok.

Wow I don't understand Why There isn't a document anywhere with the right configuration to set and primarily Why in MC when use IQFeed the default configuration is totally wrong...unbelievable.
