Ok, but if I want to display a price, how can I know the relevant tick size ?
Thank you very much for your answer
Hi everybody,
I know the question has been asked already, but I'm still not sure. In fundamental messages we have two informations : "40,Format Code" and "41,Precision", they provides almost the same information. (40, and 41 are provided by DTN)
Precision is used for the price increment, and Format Code can be used for truncating a price. But that's not my point.
Sometimes I see some differences between the Precision and what I can see when tick prices arrives.
For example, for CSCO (Cisco future), you provide a Precision of 4, but I receive the following data : 2,CSCO,PHLX,27.94,27.95,7900,100,14:14:15.784,2015-01-13,52,14:14:15.784,T,T,T, 2,CSCO,EDGA,27.94,27.95,700,100,14:14:15.784,2015-01-13,52,14:14:15.784,T,T,T, 2,CSCO,PHLX,27.94,27.95,7800,100,14:14:15.784,2015-01-13,52,14:14:15.784,T,T,T, 2,CSCO,PHLX,27.94,27.95,7900,100,14:14:15.784,2015-01-13,52,14:14:15.784,T,T,T,
I could show you more logs about it, but trust me, I never had anything more than 2 of Precision on this symbol.
I read somewhere on the forum that this is due to some electronical actors using a better Precision, so you display the better one (4 instead of 2 for example). Or other instances, I read that it was just because you didn't update your Precision.
So here is my question: Is there anything I can do to have a relevant Precision or do I have to figure it out by myself by examining the data I receive ?
Thank you for your help.
