"Boy, probably spent a thousand hours trying to get ******* API to work right. And now two hours to have something running with IQFeed. Hmmm, guess I was pretty stupid to fight rather than switch all this time. And have gotten more customer service from you guys already than total from them… in five years." - Comment from Jim
"I just wanted to say how happy I am with your service. I was able to download the API docs last week and I was able to replicate Interactive Brokers historical bar queries and realtime bar queries over the weekend. That was about one of the fastest integrations that I've ever done and it works perfectly!!!!" - Comment from Jason via Email
"I started a trial a few weeks back before the market went wild. DTN.IQ didn’t miss anything and beat my other provider. I decided to stay with you because of the great service through all the volatility." - Comment from Mike
"With HUGE volume on AAPL and RIMM for 2 days, everyone in a trading room was whining about freezes, crashes and lag with *******, RealTick, TS and Cyber. InvestorRT with IQFeed was rock solid. I mean SOLID!" - Comment from Public IRC Chat
"DTN feed was the only feed that consistently matched Bloomberg feed for BID/ASK data verification work these past years......DTN feed is a must for my supply & demand based trading using Cumulative Delta" - Comment from Public Forum Post
"Just a thank you for the very helpful and prompt assistance and services. You provided me with noticeably superior service in my setup compared to a couple of other options I had looked at." - Comment from John
"I am a hedge fund manager here. It’s funny, I have a Bloomberg terminal and a Bridge feed, but I still like having my DTN feed!" - Comment from Feras

Hi,

I am currently using IQFeed 2.2.7.2 with .NET C# through TCP/IP sockets.
I am thinking to upgrade to 2.3? I am not sure if it is worth the effort. Is this
version stable than 2.2? In my one year with IQFeed, I have overcome numerous
problems, bad real time field data, crashes, no history data avaiable around 9pm
PST, sometimes there are history data for one symbol but not the other, minutes
later, retry is able to get both data for both symbols. If I upgrading to 2.3, do I
need to go through this again?

What prompts me to think about upgrading is since last friday, the s&p emini quote
became delayed even though I subscribed to real time. The support rep tweaked
my account info to get real time quote again. I am not sure why it requires changes
since before last Friday, I am receiving real time quote.

PS: is there a 2.3 release note somewhere? I tried to find out what API changes from
2.2.

From email: IQFeed NOTICE: IQFeed 2.3 is now available. dated 13 May 2004

If you choose to upgrade to version 2.3, please note that there is a change in the TCP interface which will require
modification to your existing code. Also be sure to notify your customers as to which IQFeed Client version your product is
compatible with.

The changes that you'll find in version 2.3. are:

1)Support for single stock futures, equity options, future options and forex symbols. (New Functionality)

2)Faster response to history requests. (Improved functionality)

3)TCP Interface for history, news, symbol lookup and option chains has a new request protocol. (Bug Fix, Changed interface)

4)VWAP appears in the update message field number 59. (New Functionality)

5)Handling the random crashing of IQConnect.(Bug Fix)

6)Fixed crashing of IQFeedY. IQConnect status notification will not be sent any more.
The system message of "S,SERVER CONNECTED" will have to be used for this purpose.( Bug Fix, Changed interface)

7)New sample apps for .Net and VB.(New Functionality).

8)New Application "IQWatchQuote". An Integrated app to demonstrate streaming level1,regionals and news.(New Functionality)

NOTE: The Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 needs to be installed to be able to execute the .Net sample applications. The Java
example needs the Java Run Time Environment (tested with JRE 1.4.2).
