That message means that something is using the file zlib1.dll.

Assuming that you do not have IQFeed running when you get the error message, it would have to be some other app on your machine.

Please restart the computer and do the install immediately after the machine reboots before you open any other applications and it should let you install.

In that case, some app or service that you have configured to load when windows starts up must be the culprit and we will have to figure out which one it is.

please download and run Process Explorer from Microsoft's website here:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

This app is similiar to windows task manager except that it gives you a lot more information about the apps that are running and gives you more flexability for finding information.

Once you have process explorer running, click on the Find menu and choose "Find Handle or DLL..."

In the search box that pops up, type "zlib1.dll" (without quotes) and click search.

In the results box, it should list any applications that are using that dll. And the location of the dll. If you get multiple entries, we are only interested in the one(s) that shows the dll in the IQFeed install directory.

I have attached a screenshot that shows what the results should look like when IQFeed is running.

Once you find out which app is using the dll, you can close that application and install the new version of IQFeed.

If you have any problems, please contact our support group via chat or phone and they should be able to help you fix this issue.

Thanks Steve. Sorted.

For some reason AppleSyncNotifier.exe was using the file.
