"I "bracket trade" all major news releases and I have not found one lag or glitch with DTN.IQ feed. I am very comfortable with their feed under all typical news conditions (Fed releases, employment numbers, etc)." - Comment from Public Forum
"It’s so nice to be working with real professionals!" - Comment from Len
"I just wanted to say how happy I am with your service. I was able to download the API docs last week and I was able to replicate Interactive Brokers historical bar queries and realtime bar queries over the weekend. That was about one of the fastest integrations that I've ever done and it works perfectly!!!!" - Comment from Jason via Email
"This beats the pants off CQG, I am definitely switching to the ProphetX 3.0!" - Comment from Stephen
"I ran your IQFeed DDE vs. my broker vs. a level II window for some slow-moving options. I would see the level II quote change, then your feed update instantaneously. My broker's DDE, however, would take as much as 30 seconds to update. I am not chasing milliseconds, but half a minute is unacceptable." - Comment from Rob
"I have to tell you though that using the IQFeed API is about the easiest and cleanest I have seen for some time." - Comment from Jim
"If you are serious about your trading I would not rely on IB data for serious daytrading. Took me a while to justify the cost of IQ Feed and in the end, it's just a 2 point stop on ES. Better safe than sorry" - Comment from Public Forum
"Just a quick one to say I'm very impressed so far :) The documentation for developers is excellent and I've quickly managed to get an app written to do historical downloads. The system is very robust and pretty quick considering the extent of data that's available. The support guys have been very helpful too, in combination with the forums it's been plain sailing so far!" - Comment from Adam
"Version 4.0.0.2 has been working well for me and I appreciate that it is now a much tighter client to work with. I feel I can go to press with my own application and rely on a stable platform" - Comment from David in IA.
"Its working FABULOUSLY for me!! Holy cow...there has been so much I've been missing lately, and with this feed and Linnsoft software...I'm in the game now." - Comment from Chris R.

I am a daytrader and am forced to use the old program rather than the IQ program because of flexibility of writing formulas. The most important information I use is the % change from the open price for that day. Since I cannot participate in anything until open, I can only sort by "% increase" and formulate the change since open has been established. If you would add the "% change from Open" to your scan, it would help tremendously. You already have the information in your system so it really would not be a big deal.

Thanks for the suggestion. We will take a look at adding the % change from Open. One of the reasons we decided against incorporating full spreadsheet and formula capabilities in DTN.IQ was because all of the functionality and more is available through DDE links into Excel. We didn't feel it was a good use of development time to implement functionality that is already done really well by Microsoft. Unfortunately, the control used within Interquote that gave that functionality, is no longer available and thus we couldn't use it in new software.

We did begin to implement basic formula functionality into the Watch list, but it wasn't heavily tested and is very buggy (and thus we didn't document the functionality in our help files).

Have you decided if this request can be done? If not do you or anyone else know where I can find this information on a realtime basis from some other sight. I find myself wasting too much time sorting out stocks based on their performance of the total day rather than what they have done since they established their "open" price.

This wouldn't be significantly difficult to add to the client, but we are in the middle of development efforts that are going to keep this from happening in the near term. This would be very easy to accomplish in an Excel spreadsheet using DDE links. All you would need to do is take a watch list you have setup (make sure open and last fields are on the watch list), right click, choose Export, and choose to export as DDE Formulas. Then, open the saved/exported watch list with Excel. It should have the same look as your watch list. Then, add a new column and use a formula to calculate the % change from Open. I am not aware of any client software that does this, but I am sure some do. There are many applications that are compatible with the DTN.IQ datafeed (some are listed at www.iqfeed.net under compatible software).
