"I ran your IQFeed DDE vs. my broker vs. a level II window for some slow-moving options. I would see the level II quote change, then your feed update instantaneously. My broker's DDE, however, would take as much as 30 seconds to update. I am not chasing milliseconds, but half a minute is unacceptable." - Comment from Rob

How is it possible to get the list of all NYSE equities using symbol lookup via tcp/ip? I see two problems with SBF request:
1) What symbol should I use in [Search String] to indicate that it should ignore this filter (to get all the symbols)?
2) Is it possible to use in [Filter Type] "e" and "t" simultaneously to search only specified exchange (nyse) and security type (equity)?

p.s. This is really small request, when using big .txt all symbols file is quite heavy and troublesome.

Sorry for the delay in the response JoshRom..

1) Use * in the search string
2) There is no current ability to combine filters as part of the symbol lookup in the API.

The best way to accomplish what you are looking for would be to request all symbols from NYSE Listed Market, then parse your result set by the security type you want (throw out anything that doesn't includes security type 1 for example.

Other options would be to download and parse the full symbol list from our website or you could use the symbol search on our website which would allow you to filter by both Listed Market and Security Type at the same time. However, using this method will require you to traverse the result sets which are paginated with a max of 250 results per page.
