"I just wanted to say how happy I am with your service. I was able to download the API docs last week and I was able to replicate Interactive Brokers historical bar queries and realtime bar queries over the weekend. That was about one of the fastest integrations that I've ever done and it works perfectly!!!!" - Comment from Jason via Email

I'm interested in running my app for long periods (on the order of a month) without human intervention. (It can send screening alerts by email or messaging when its user is travelling.)

It appears that when network service is interupted, IQConnect puts up an alert box and won't return to normal operation until the box is dismissed manually. Although I've tried several approaches to shut it down or reinitialize it, I haven't found any that works 100% reliably so far.

So I'm curious. Is there an officially approved way in the IQFeed API to shut down cleanly and automatically after an outage? What techniques are the rest of you folks using?
