Dear Members,

This is my first post here and so I apologize if I haven't picked the correct forum to ask this question. If someone can direct me I would appreciate it, should I have choosen wrongly.

My question: I need to display data from FTSE and DAX. Can I get that from any of these products?

many thanks

Frank

Frank,

There are a few questions to ask first to make sure we answer correctly. You say you need to "display" data from FTSE and DAX.

When you say "display", are you looking for data for a website or public access display (in which case you want to look at our FinWin product at http://www.finwin.com), or that you need this data for your own purpose (this would include DTN.IQ, IQFeed, and our satellite products), or that you need the data to redistribute from your server to your users (you need a commercial redistribution datafeed from our ticker plant)?

Also, most of the customers calling asking for the FTSE and DAX (XGM4 for the June 2004 DAX Index) are asking for the DAX Index futures traded on Eurex, and the FTSE index traded on LIFFE (LFM4 for June 2004 FTSE 100). If this is what you are looking for, we do carry the data and can deliver it as indicated in the above paragraph. For details of these exchanges and the data included, please look at our symbol guide at http://www.iqfeed.net/symbolguide/ and click on EUREX and LIFFE.

Hello Jay,

I hope you had a great weekend. And thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

What I am trying to build is an online portfoilo tracker for registered users. I want to build a website that I can allow registered users to get information on a given stock, select how many stocks they want, and then track the stocks performance over time. My users would not be trading. (however if you have a product that allows them to trade please direct me to that information). I am particualrly interested in quities trading in Europe on the majro exchanges there.

I thank you for your time.

yours kindly

Frank

Frank,

We don't currently offer international equities data, which is too bad, because our FinWin product line is serving customers doing exactly what you are looking for. There are hundreds of websites using our FinWin or datafeed products (not IQFeed) to power portfolio applications, sign boards, web quotes, alerts, or full financial portals. We don't offer any trading systems, but we do provide quotes to brokers who do.

I don't know if we will ever offer International equities due to the cost involved, and the lack of damand currently. If there is a demand, and the economics make sense, we will definately consider it further.

Good Afternoon Jay,

I hope your weekend was great! And many thanks for the information. I'm wondering which of your products would be best for our application absent the Euro Equities information?

As well..by virtue of 'being in the business' and since you are not planning on getting in the business..can you give us some direction for a euro equities solution? Maybe what we can do is combine your product for the North American markets, and a different company for the EU?

I forgot to ask..do you guys cover the Nikki?

cheers

Frank

I can't really help you with other companies that would work well with us to fill in the data we can't provide, but I would suggest that our FinWin product line is the best way to go for what you are looking for. It would be best for you to get in touch with our commercial business development group at prosales@dtn.com and they can answer any questions you have regarding the implementation of FinWin for your purpose. In the mean time, you can look at www.finwin.com for more information as well.

Thanks Jay...I'll look into the website to see what there is there. What is the difference between what you offer here and what they offer there?

cheers!

The two are just different product lines serving different needs. IQFeed and DTN.IQ are for end users and do not allow the redistribution of data to others (via websites or other means). FinWin is specifically designed to be redistributed, and most of our customer do so via websites. We also have portfolio functionality built into FinWin, so the features you want to provide may already be available in a turnkey solution.
