Hi,

Can anyone recommend a 'most reliable way' to check for corrupted records?

Also, a suggestion: Is it possible to put a checksum in the record in the new version?

There does appear to be "magic" junk that appears in corrupted records, but I instead detect unreasonable data during parsing to find the fields I'm interested in.

The corruption tends to add/subtract field separation commas and this makes for unexpected stuff in numeric fields and the timestamp field. A total count of commas in the record might be a quick and dirty detector.

Fortunately, corruption seems to appear only after the symbol column.

HTH.
