Not on futures, they seem OK, but stocks are way off.
NASDAQ, NYSE, AMEX all running slow.

Same here, like yesterday, between 10:00 and 10:30 ET, all NASDAQ (that's all I trade), two different IQFeed servers this time.
Up to 2 minutes delay on 66.112.156.221:60002 and 3 minutes delay occured on 66.112.156.224:60002. Edited by kdresser on Aug 31, 2005 at 10:10 AM

We are checking into this. I am connected to 2 servers, .222 and .227 and both are right on with the market, but we are seeing some servers queuing data. Our OPS group is looking into what is causing this on the other servers. Yesterday we were able to identify a user who was taking an excessive number of connections, so we terminated the user and took the server he was connected to offline.

The 10:00 to 10:30 ET window seems magical, across several servers.
See my June 17 post. Same time window there too.
If you want logs or even an email alert when these happen, I'll oblige.
Thanks for the response. Edited by kdresser on Aug 31, 2005 at 10:22 AM

Thanks for the offer, but we actually have pretty good alerts here to tell us if there are issue (in addition to this forum :)
We have been doing maintenence at our second server facility, so we weren't able to bring up some additional servers when the load was seen today. We have an engineer finishing up some maintenence and will have them online shortly, to balance the load further. In the mean time our developers are looking into how certain users are able to create so many connections to the server. Not sure if this is an IQFeed but, or someone circumventing our protocols. In either case, the user was terminated until we can figure out the cause.

I agree with what you see.
I've got messages at 10:13 EST where the futures have a 10:13 time stamp, but the stocks have a 10:10 time stamp. Seems to me the issue is probably futher upstream than the specific server I'm connected to...

A suggestion: "Thanks for the offer, but we actually have pretty good alerts here to tell us if there are issue (in addition to this forum :)" Perhaps this page http://www.dtniq.com/product/motd/motd2.cfmwould be more useful if it was updated when your "pretty good alerts" detect a problem instead of leaving your users to try to work out if the problem is their ISP, your ISP, their software or your servers.

skunk,
You are right, we should do a better job updating this page. Instead, I had all of our staff running around researching the problem and working to correct whatever issues there were as quickly as possible.
I will get someone dedicated to updating this page so you and our other customers are better informed when there is a problem we are aware of.

I'd still like something to come across the feed that would be useful for those of us writing ATS applications. One suggestion might be to add a single character to the Time message:
N-Normal T-Trouble
This way our apps could take appropriate action.
