wish :

T&S where all trades at ask are shown in green and all trades at bid are shown in red. It is much more informative than just marking up- and downticks. And if you decide to implement this, please do it for NYSE, Amex, Nasdaq, OTCBB and Pinksheets.

In the DTN.IQ software, we currently mark the bid or ask field with << to indicate that the trade occured at the bid or the ask. This should be as good as the color coding, especially for our customers who may be color blind. The up-down tick colors are there as well, so you get the best of both worlds. Let me know if this is different than what you are looking for.

I hope this is not out of line but the software that I have for IQFeed and DTNIQ (the IQXP Program) has a special Trade Window that shows the trades that have occured at or greater than a set trade volume threshold with a large bid/ask indicator. On the Trade Window display there is a large color arrow next to change that indicates if the trade was at bid or below, at ask or higher, or in between. The coloration of the change field reflects gain/loss from yesterdays close. The display includes aural feedback - a different sounding click depending where the trade was re bid/ask. Both the frequency (rep rate) of trades and aural feedback lets you know across the room that things are "heating up".

There is a Tick List Window that is associated with the Trade Window that has a time sequence list of the trades that occured on the symbols in the Trade Window and an indicator in the list showing where the trade was re bid/ask. It is like a time & sales window with additional information.

Finally another window in the Trade Window display is for a Tick Trend Window that graphically shows a trend graph of the last 25 trades on a symbol and where traded re bid/ask and also the summation of the trade volumes at the bid, ask and in between. The window also posts number of trades, last, and change.

The Trade Window can be populated by any symbol you chose. However, the larger the list coupled with low trade thresholds degrade the usefullness of its use as there is too much activity. It is very helpfull for monitoring a select group of symbols. It really helps you see the buying/selling pressure dynamically. The Trade Window display was designed by Dan Zanger - a very succesful trader.

You can try the IQXP Progrm if you like - it is free for the next month or so until I release it. Go to www.iqxp.com download section for details.
