Hello,

Is there an example that anyone can give me to retrieve news for a particular symbol via the TCP/IP rather than the XML method?

I followed the example in the documentation as follows:

SN :(Item):(Types):(Indicator):(Date):(Limit);

Replacing (Item) with a symbol or key word, (Types) with a comma separated list of news distribution sources, (Indicator) with a "1" for symbols and a "0" for keywords, (Date) with a particular day to search on, or blank, and (Limit) with the maximum number of headlines to retrieve.

I understand ITEM, INDICATOR, DATE and LIMIT requestors but what do I put for TYPES?

Sorry I missed your post, this might be better served in the IQFeed Developer Support section.

Anyway, there is a VC++ examples app that does news via sockets in text...I believe it is called NewsSocketText. The examples apps are installed with the developer install package, and you get the code too. I hope this helps. Thanks!
