"There is no doubt that IQFeed is the best data provider. I am very satisfied with your services. And IQFeed is the only one that I would recommend to my friends. Now, most of them are using your product in China." - Comment from Zhezhe
"Boy, probably spent a thousand hours trying to get ******* API to work right. And now two hours to have something running with IQFeed. Hmmm, guess I was pretty stupid to fight rather than switch all this time. And have gotten more customer service from you guys already than total from them… in five years." - Comment from Jim
"IQ feed works very well, does not have all of the normal interruptions I have grown used to on *******" - Comment from Mark

IQFeed Developer Support » Issue with @VX# data retrieval Today @ 01:54 PM (Total replies: 1)

David,

I am not seeing any issues on our side, so if you could provide some additional information it would be helpful. Did this issue just start today (were you previously pulling @VX# data successfully)? Are you able to access the current data for @VX# in the IQFeed Watch Quote Display App? Are all other symbols working properly (including others from the CBOE Futures Exchange)? If after restarting your connection to IQFeed you are still having issues, please let us know what server you are connected to (IP in the connection manager) as well as what specific time-series data you are requesting.

Thanks

IQFeed Developer Support » EOD Historical Dividend Adjustments Nov 7, 2017 07:30 AM (Total replies: 28)

This project continues to be worked on as part of a larger overall historical data initiative. We don't have a release date/timeline to share, but it is in development by our engineering teams.

Data and Content Support » Aggregation Nov 7, 2017 07:28 AM (Total replies: 3)

Hi Bob,

We do still have this on our product roadmap but it hasn't managed to bubble to the top due to other higher priority work we have underway. We should have more clarity on a timeline for this in early 2018.

Thanks for your patience!

As you know, the DTN.IQ/IQFeed Core service includes the most comprehensive data available at an unmatched price. In addition to exchange data, our service includes streaming real-time news, over 40,000 DTN calculated market breadth/statistical indicators and 1-minute historical bars going back more than 10 years. As a value-add, we also include dozens of fundamental data fields that provide insight into a stock's corporate actions, trading metrics, and value.

We recently received notice from both the Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) that they have implemented new fees for the receipt of certain fundamental data fields that are currently included in the DTN.IQ/IQFeed Core service (see below for the fields affected). Because most of our customers find these fields critical to their trade analysis, and to avoid any disruption in the receipt of these fields, we have added a new premium service called “Extended Fundamental Data” to the account of DTN.IQ/IQFeed users. This new add-on service is priced at $5 per month starting October 1, 2017. If you don't require access to these fields you may login to the Account Management Portal at www.iqfeed.net and remove the Extended Fundamental Data service from your account at any time prior to October 1 to avoid the $5 fee and stop receiving these fundamental data fields.

Fundamental Data Fields moving to the new Extended Fundamental Data premium service:

  • Dividend Yield

  • Dividend Amount

  • Dividend Rate

  • Dividend Pay Date

  • Ex-Dividend Date

  • Short Interest

Please note that due to a change in schedule by the exchanges, this change is now scheduled for the weekend of October 1. Please be sure to change your symbols during the weekend of October 1 to ensure you are receiving data October 2.

Vice President, Active Trader Products

In order to improve consistency within our symbology in DTN.IQ and IQFeed, US and Canadian equity warrant symbol formats will be changing effective the weekend of September 16th. The current symbol for warrants will change from having a “+” at the end of the symbol (ie. AIG+), to now ending in “.WS” (ie. AIG.WS). For various classes of stock warrants, the class indicator will follow the “.WS” (ie. BAC.WS.A or BAC.WS.B instead of the current symbols of BAC+A or BAC+B).

If you are watching any warrants from US or Canadian markets, please be sure to change your symbols during the weekend of September 16th to continue receiving data. If you have any questions, please contact our support group at 800-779-7299, support@iqfeed.net or chat with us by visiting our website at www.iqfeed.net.

Some additional Examples of the symbol changes:
US Equity Warrants:
DYN+ --> DYN.WS
DYN+A --> DYN.WS.A
JPM+ --> JPM.WS

Canadian Equity Warrants:
C.NDM+ --> C.NDM.WS
C.NDM+A --> C.NDM.WS.A
C.NDM+B --> C.NDM.WS.B

Based on customer feedback, effective this evening we will be changing the roll rule for @GF (Feeder Cattle) contracts to roll 2 weeks prior to expiration. This will provide continuation chart data that will more closely follow volume/OI on this contract.

Based on customer feedback, effective this evening we will be changing the roll rule for @LE (Live Cattle), @HE (Lean Hogs) and @LB (Lumber) contracts to roll 2 weeks prior to expiration. This will provide continuation chart data that will more closely follow volume/OI on these contracts.

DTNIQ Client Software Wish List » iqconnect.exe & iqconnect_console.exe Jun 13, 2017 12:53 PM (Total replies: 10)

A cross platform version of IQFeed continues to be on the roadmap. IQFeed will continue to be a GUI based product however as the exchanges continue to tighten their fee structure around non-display applications. While there are users who would like to build non-display applications off our service, you would be required to pay thousands of dollars per month to the exchanges for the privilege. Unless the exchanges change their tune and create more trader friendly fee structures, our plan is to continue providing our display applications in order to provide service to a broader audience.

Yes we do. It is now called "Live briefs Pro Global Markets". Because we now have more global markets such as London Stocks, we upgraded our users to the global feed from MT Newswires.

Our engineers are looking into this. It appears a login server is having issues.

Unfortunately you can't. Your data subscription has a symbol limit and we don't allow users to systematically/programatically scan the market by watching and unwatching symbols. If you need a full market feed, please take a look at our NxCore service at www.nanex.net.

IQFeed Developer Support » forex: last always == bid? Apr 16, 2017 09:02 AM (Total replies: 5)

The field "Last", or "Last Trade Price" is always equal to the bid with forex data since forex is a quote only (bid/ask) feed (doesn't report actual trades). IQFeed uses the Last field for historical data. Thus, the historical data is derived from the Bid field.

DTN.IQ Client Software Support » Error: Unauthorized user ID Apr 3, 2017 04:00 PM (Total replies: 1)

Hey Tony,

You will need the CME S&P Global Indexes (SPG1200.X) and the Dow Jones Indexes (GDOW.X) as those indexes are fee liable regardless of delay. Thus, by adding the service the data will be in real-time.

IQFeed Developer Support » the fly on the wall news Mar 28, 2017 09:44 AM (Total replies: 1)

Yes, the news within IQFeed is available as part of the API.

We provide a professional level of service to our customers as you see by the fast response to your inquiry. It appears you have already tried to hack your way toward using IQFeed in your application, which may be good enough for some of our users. There is no additional cost to doing this other than time and frustration. The level of support we provide to developers is unmatched and is provided for those who can't afford for their software to stop working because they took shortcuts or weren't aware of changes made to the API that could break their code. The API service includes full documentation, sample code, direct support from our development team, notification of changes, and access to pre-production systems or beta versions to allow you time to test your software before we release to the general public. At $360 per year, this should be one of the smallest investments you can make into your trading system.

There is cheap and free data out there. Many have come and gone over the years because they either provided poor service or had a bad financial model. Providing quality service is neither cheap nor easy.

We would love the opportunity to serve your needs and help ensure you have a trading system that will be operational for years to come.
