I started the IQ Feed (using my custom program with API) to collect the streaming data and when I tried to connect to the IQ feed (with the same login-in ID) from other computer to do some analysis using other charting tools (Like amibroker), the first one is disconnected.

So, is there any way to run the IQ Feed separately on two computers using the same login ID?

If not, I am considering to set-up dedicated server where IQ Feed runs and my custom programs connect to that computer (using sockets), Is this possible? (Here I guess, I need to specify in my API program to the that IQ Feed dedicated server IP to connect on certain port).

please advise.

Thank you

I mean "Remote" not "Remove" in the subject line.

What you are trying to do is not allowed due to exchange restrictions on redistribution of data. IQConnect will only accept a connection from the local machine (127.0.0.1). In order to connect to IQFeed from 2 different machines, you will need 2 IQFeed accounts.

Steve,

I use one PC with OS Win 7 Professional and plan to run multiple Virtual Machines for matters of stability and reliability. How can I setup IQFEED so that the various Virtual Machines can use the IQFEED? Each Virtual machine will have either a charting or analysing software package. SO the data is not distributed over multiple PC's and I am the only user of the PC.
Please advice.
Thanks,
Westvleteren

There is no way to do that currently built into the feed other than running a separate instance of IQFeed in each virtual machine (which would require a separate account for each instance).

I don't believe there would be any way for us to allow a single instance of IQFeed to service multiple virtual machines without violating exchange agreements against redistribution of data since there is no way to guarantee that the data is going to the same machine.
