The LookupSymbol method returns found symbols in <symbol>space<description> format.

We need to extract from each found string symbol and its description as separated strings.

For symbol like MSFT MICROSOFT CORP we can simply subsrtact symbol as chars left of first space.

For symbol like MQF AO MSFT JAN 2007 C 17.0 we have to substract all left of the second space.

So, there is no one algorythm for extraction symbol from the result string.

Do you have any work-around?

This is actually something that is currently being reviewed. Unfortunately right now, there is not a viable workaround within the feed.

However, there is a downloadable symbol list on our website that is updated daily (www.iqfeed.net click on support -> symbol guide) which is a tab delimited text file (thus easily parsed) and the option symbols currently have underscores instead of spaces. This file (while much larger) will hopefully help unltil we have a better solution built into the feed.

You can search the entire forum history by switching the dropdown to the "-" option.
