Since Option Search returns expired contracts, I tried OptionChain lookup. I found two problems:
1) It doesn't return LEAPs, I sent in "OEA,HD,1,4;", no LEAPs returned.
2) It returns invalid option symbols, with LookupClient,

The problem here is that the requests are specifying you want near months and apparently the near months request overrides the leaps request.

The API documentation is also incorrect in this reguard (since it says values of 1-4 with nears).

And to cap off the trifecta, the LookupClient Example app is also bugged in that it does not handle this properly either.

If you send the same request with near months set to zero, you get the leaps.

I will update the documentation for the next release of IQFeed as well as take a look at that example app.
